Get out your super suits because the Incredibles are coming back to theaters in a new adventure.
Incredibles III, a follow up to the two previous animated superhero films, was announced this evening during Pixar Studios’ portion of the big Disney Entertainment panel at the D23 convention in Anaheim, CA.
Brad Bird, the Pixar writer/director who oversaw the first two Incredibles films is currently developing this third installment.
The original 2004 Incredibles starred Craig T Nelson as a superhero who was forced into retirement and finding it hard to adjust to civilian life. But when he gets the chance, he sneaks back off to his former heroic life, much to the consternation of his also retired superheroine wife Elasti-Girl (Holly Hunter) and their two superpowered pre-teens children.
The original film grossed $631.6 million at the worldwide box office which the sequel nearly doubled with its $1.243 billion box office gross.
There is no word yet as to when the film will be released.
