Star Wars fans who enjoyed Disney +’s latest series The Acolyte and who want to spend more time with some of the characters introduced in the show are in luck. During the Star Wars: Stories From a Galaxy Far, Far Away panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, it was announced that a number of characters from The Acolyte will be getting either their own comics or prose solo stories.

What makes this announcement especially noteworthy is that this is the first time that there has been no tie-in fiction for any of the other Disney+ Star Wars series. There has been no reportage out of the panel as to why there has been this change, but it does suggest that there is still an ongoing push to continue creating content to flesh out the franchise’s relatively new High Republic era.

First up is author Justina Ireland’s prose novel, Star Wars: The Acolyte: Wayseeker. Set approximately 20 years before and some time after fans last saw the character as a teenage Padawan at the end of Phase III of the High Republic publishing initiative, the story will show how Vernestra Rwoh learns to find her place in the Jedi Order after spending time exploring the galaxy’s Outer Rim.

On the comic book front, three projects were announced. First up was the news that Marvel Comics’ High Republic title would be continuing their High Republic-era comics, with a new volume launching next February with wookie Jedi Kelnaccan joining the cast. However before that launches, Kelnacca will be getting his own one-shot comic. Writer Cavan Scott will be handling both titles.

Finally, a Young Adult novel centering on Jedi Padawans Yord and Jecki Lon from author Tessa Gratton is slated for release in July 2025. But with that publication date being so far out no story details were released.
