Troy Barnes is heading back to Greendale Community College.

Former Community castmate Donald Glover has confirmed that he will be participating in the upcoming feature film spinoff.

Speaking to GQ, Glover referenced the upcoming project in a way that suggested he was indeed participating in the film. When the Community was first announced last September, Glover’s name was absent from the last of cast expected to return.

The Community movie, there’s some progress on it. We’re supposed to be shooting it soon. Haven’t seen a script. In true Dan (Harmon) fashion, we’ll probably get it on the first day. But yeah, it’s supposed to be happening. I know just as much about it as you do.

Created by writer Dan Harmon, Community premiered on NBC in the fall of 2009 and centered on a study group made up of six disparate students. As the series unfolded, they learned that they had more in common with each other than they first thought all the while the college’s campus life would degenerate into the surreality if campus wide pillow forts and paintball games.

Glover’s Troy Barnes was a freshman at Greendale, struggling to overcome the expectations placed on him by being his high school’s football star. It is through his friendship with co-star Danny Pudi’s Abed that Troy learns to follow wherever his own personal freak flag may lead him. Glover left the show during its fifth season, with Troy leaving the group to sail around the world with LeVar Burton.
