EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE Leads Oscar Nominations

2023 Academy Awards

Everything Everywhere All At Once, a tale of a couple struggling to keep their marriage together set against the backdrop of a disaster that could wipe out all of creation, was the big winner this morning with eleven Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Director for Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Best Supporting Actress for both Stephanie Hsu and Jamie Lee Curtis, Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan and Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh.

Yeoh’s nomination in the Best Actress nomination marks her as the first Asian actress to receive that recognition in the category.

Writer/Director Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees Of Inisherin garnered nine nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress for Kerry Condon, Best Supporting Actor for Barry Keoghan and Brendan Gleeson and Best Actor for Colin Farrell.

Also receiving nine nominations is the new adaptation of the novel All Quiet On The Western Front from Germany with Best Picture and Best International Picture among its nods.

The music biopic Elvis scored eight nominations including Best Picture and a Best Actor nod for star Austin Butler while Steven Spielberg’s fictionalized version of his own life story, The Fablemans, received seven nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress for Michelle Williams.

Rounding out the Best Picture race are Avatar, Top Gun, Women Talking, Tar and Triangle Of Sadness.

The 95th Academy Awardss will take place on Sunday, March 12.
