The late, great John Candy will be the subject of an upcoming documentary from Ryan Reynolds and Colin Hanks.
Reynolds revealed that his production company Maximum Effort was working on the project on twitter yesterday.
With John Candy trending, I’ll just say I love him. So much so, @maximumeffort is working on a documentary on his life with @colinhanks. Expect tears.

Candy’s son Christopher and daughter Jennifer confirmed the news (below), indicating that the family is cooperating with the production.
Hanks is an interesting choice for director on the untitled project. His father worked with Candy on Splash (1983) and Volunteers (1985), while he has directed two critically acclaimed documentaries already – All Things Must Pass, which charted the history of Tower Records and Eagles Of Death Metal, which profiled the titular band.
