The Solar Opposites are sticking around Earth for a while longer!
The Hulu animated series has been given an order for a fifth season producer and co-creator Mike McMahan announced yesterday at New York Comic Con.
“We’re already working on it, and it is awesome!” McMahan stated to reporters shortly before he made the announcement at the packed Solar Opposites panel, promising more “a lot more great Solar Opposites, a lot more of the Wall, lot more SilverCops, a lot of really cool stuff coming.”
The news comes following the release of Solar Opposites‘s third season this past July and a Halloween special – Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special – this week. Season 4 is expected sometime later in 2023.
Created by McMahan and Rick And Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, Solar Opposites centers on four roughly humanoid aliens who escaped the destruction of their home planet Shlopr and whose ship has crash-landed on Earth. They bring with a Pupa, a slug like creature designed to ultimately grow to enormous size and terraform a planet into a new homeworld for the displaced Shlorpian people. Unfortunately, the four find themselves fascinated and slowly being assimilated into Earth culture, and eventually science-fiction high jinks ensue. The series debuted in 2020.
