Phoebe Waller-Bridge has dropped out of Amazon’s upcoming Mr. & Mrs. Smith series in which she was set to star opposite Donald Glover.
Deadline is that reporting that the actress has left the project over “creative differences.”
An adaptation of the 2005 movie starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the series would have seen Waller-Bridge and Glover starring as husband and wife who are both leading double lives as assassins hidden from each other. They only discover their spouse’s secret when their respective employers orders them to kill the other. Directed by Doug Liman, the original got mixed reviews but was a hit at the box office, clearing $487 million worldwide.
In addition to starring, Glover is one of the spearheads on the project, sharing a co-creator credit with showrunner Francesca Sloane.
