The Flash will be kicking off its eighth season with a five-part story line that will see the Scarlett Speedster teaming up with a number of heroes, and a couple of villains, from throughout the CW’s Arrowverse.
Teaming up with star Grant Gustin’s titular superhero over the course of the story arc will be Javicia Leslie as Batwoman, Brandon Routh as The Atom, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Chyler Leigh as Sentinel, Kat McNamara as Mia Queen and Osric Chau as Ryan Choi. Representing the villains will be Tom Cavanagh as Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash and Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk.
According to the initial report from Deadline, the “Armageddon” storyline will focus on –
[A] powerful alien threat arrives on Earth under mysterious circumstances and Barry, Iris (Candice Patton) and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world. But with time running out, and the fate of humanity at stake, Flash and his companions will also need to enlist the help of some old friends if the forces of good are to prevail.
When the event starts it will have been one month shy of a full two years since the last Arrowverse crossover event, the sprawling “Crisis On Infinite Earths.” Granted, covid-related production concerns may have thrown a kink into any plans that may have been percolating for last season.
