Scarlett Johansson is the latest actor to join the cast of indie writer/director Wes Anderson’s latest, and currently untitled, film.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the story of Johansson’s casting, though, as expected at this stage of the game with an Anderson production, there is no word about her character or how she fits into the currently top secret storyline.
This is Johansson’s second collaboration with Anderson, though her first one on screen. She previously contributed a voice to the director’s 2018 stop-motion animated feature Isle Of Dogs.
The film’s ensemble is shaping up to be a rather star-studded affair. In addition to actors from what could be described as Anderson’s own repertory company of players – Adrien Brody, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and Tilda Swinton, Johansson will be on the call sheet alongside Margot Robbie and Tom Hanks, who both joined the cast of the film earlier this month.
Production on the film has just started in Spain. Anderson’ current film, The French Dispatch, which was delayed from last summer due to the pandemic, is set to open in theaters in October.
