HBO Max’s BATGIRL Finds Its Barbara Gordon In Leslie Grace

Batgirl

Leslie Grace is Gotham City’s latest protector.

The In The Heights star has been cast in HBO Max’s upcoming Batgirl film as Barbara Gordon, daughter of GCPD commissioner Gordon, who dons her own cape and cowl to help keep the streets of the city safe at night.

Grace reportedly beat out Haley Lu Richardson, Isabela Merced and Zoey Deutch, who were all in contention for the part.

The project is going directly to HBO Max as part of Warner Brothers plan to exploit a number of its DC Comics characters across a number of platforms.

Bad Boys For Life directing team of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will be helming, working from a screenplay by Bumblebee and The Flash scripter Christina Hodson. Production is set to begin later this fall for a presumed 2022 premier.
