Amazon Developing GI JOE Series Centering On Lady Jaye

GI Joe is getting ready to be deployed to Amazon.

Amazon Prime Video is reportedly developing a new live action television series that will feature the GI Joe character of Lady Jaye.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “The potential series is a standalone story centering on Lady Jaye but will also connect to the larger G.I. Joe universe.” However, they do not state how or even if the show will have a direct connection to the upcoming Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, due for release in the fall. That film has been reported to be a reboot, restarting the franchise separate from the two previous films released in 2009 and 2013.

Erik Oleson, a veteran of Amazon’s Carnival Row and Netflix’s Daredevil, will be serving double duty, both writing and showrunning the series.

Adrianne Palicki played the Lady Jaye character in 2013’s GI Joe: Retaliation, but there is no reportage as whether she will return to the role or if they will recast.
