The Umbrella Academy will be remaining open for another season. Netflix has renewed their popular comic-book adaptation for a third season which is set to start production next February in Toronto.
The series, based on the graphic novel series created by My Chemical romance frontman Gerard Way and artist Gabriel Bá, centers on a group of superpowered young adults who were raised together from infancy and act more as a dysfunctional family than a superhero team.
The show’s first season premiered in February 2019 and was watched by more than 45 million households in its first month of availability according to Netflix. It was ultimately the streamer’s third-most watched series for the year. Season 2 premiered at the end of this past July.
All of the show’s regular cast – Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore – is expected to return.
