Ron Burgundy Is Getting A Podcast

Great Odin’s raven!

He’s been featured in two movies and written a book about his incredible career as a news anchor, and now the legendary Ron Burgundy, star of Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy, is getting his own podcast.

Funny Or Die, co-founded by Ron Burgundy’s alter-ego Will Farrell, will be producing The Ron Burgundy Podcast and has already signed on for two 12-episode seasons. The first season is set to debut in the early part of 2019 with the second season set for later in the year. iHeartRadio is distributing.

It is a bit unclear as to what kind of format the show will embrace. Will it just be Ron Burgundy rambling about stuff? Will some of his former Action 4 Newsteam cohorts stop by to make appearances? Will he interview real world celebrities, similar to how Stephen Colbert’s character of Stephen Colbert interviewed newsmakers on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report?

And apparently Ron Burgundy himself is a bit unclear as to what his show will be as well, as evidenced by the press release announcing the podcast –

“Listen, I don’t know what a podcast is, but I currently have a lot of time on my hands and a lot to talk about,” said Ron Burgundy, host of The Ron Burgundy Podcast. “I am also broke. Therefore, I am very excited to do this podcast. It is literally saving my life.”

Burgundy also took to twitter to announce the show, and to mix it up with a few other journalists.
