When the first trailer for Warner Brothers’ Aquaman dropped this past summer during San Diego Comic Con, we were impressed with the epic scope hinted at in the clip. The second trailer focused a bit more on Jason Momoa’s interpretation of the classic DC Comics hero, and we were a bit disappointed to see it was a continuation of the bro-ish spin he gave the character in last year’s Justice League. But this final trailer that has just been released pulls back on that a bit and instead gives us more of an idea of the film’s scope.
Here’s the studio’s official synopsis –
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
Aquaman also stars Patrick Wilson as King Orm/Ocean Master, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.
It arrives in theaters December 21.
