You have to hand it to Disney. They are willing going all out to give their new streaming service the best possible start. That’s especially true when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe content on service. After word of a Loki and Scarlet Witch miniseries being in the works, we have another pair from the films moving to the new venture.
Variety is stating that Disney is developing a miniseries starring Captain America’s sidekicks Falcon and Winter Soldier. The series will be written by Empire’s Malcolm Spellman and Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are set to return in the roles.
The pair share a begrudging love/hate relationship with each other in the film, and it will be good to see that transfer to the little screen. No word on plot or storyline as of yet.
The film is expected to have a bigger budget than Marvel’s conventional TV offerings. Another difference is that the streaming service shows will be overseen by Marvel Studios, not Marvel’s television arm.
All of this is very exciting, but part of me wished they put the same effort into their Netflix and ABC shows. If they did, those shows wouldn’t floundering and close to being cancelled.
