The Nun star Demián Bichir is in talks to star in Godzilla Vs Kong. Bichir will join the already cast Millie Bobby Brown, Julian Dennison and Brian Tyree Henry in the creature feature.
The film will be the fourth installment of Legendary and Warner Brothers’ giant monster cinematic universe that launched in 2014 with Godzilla and followed up last year with Kong: Skull Island. The next installment in the franchise is Godzilla: King Of The Monsters and will hit theaters May 31, 2019.
Adam Wingard is set to direct the film, which is eyeing a November production start in Atlanta. Terry Rossio is writing the screenplay based on ideas that spun out of a writers room that the studio set up for the franchise last month which included Lindsey Beer, Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne (Star Trek Beyond), T.S. Nowlin (The Maze Runner franchise), Jack Paglen (“Transcendence”) and J. Michael Straczynski (creator of the Babylon 5 TV series) and Cat Vasko.
Plot details are of course being kept under wraps, though I suppose that the title is a big clue.
Godzilla Vs Kong is set for a May 22, 2020 release date.
