Wilson, Farmiga Return As The Warrens For ANNABELLE Sequel

The Conjuring spawned a rare horror shared universe but its leads, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, have only appeared in the offshoot films in archival footage. That all changes with the third as yet unnamed Annabelle sequel.

Deadline states that Wilson and Farmiga have signed onto return as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren for the forthcoming film. The site says that their characters will play a supporting role in the film.

The plot will pick up on what happened after the Warrens brought the haunted doll back into the Artifact’s Room of their home. Apparently, the evil spirit hadn’t completely left the toy, and it awakens to torment the Warrens’ daughter, her babysitter and the babysitter’s friend.

The film is being written and directed by Gary Dauberman and is scheduled to start filming this week. The sequel is set to be released on July 3. 2019.
