So, it looks like its time for every Stephen King film adaptation to be remade. I guess having the remake of It be such a smash success will do that for you. Next up on the docket: Pet Sematary.
King’s 1983 novel was already adapted to the screen in 1989 starring Fred Gwynne, Dale Midkiff and Denise Crosby. This time around the parts are played by John Lithgow, Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz.
The story, for those of you who don’t know, follows a young doctor who moves to Maine with his family. His new house comes with a special added feature, a burial ground where the dead can come back to life. When a personal tragedy strikes the family, they soon find out dead is better.
The trailer is an early one, so it is heavy on atmosphere and light on plot. But if you are familiar with novel or the original, it is plenty creepy.
The film is directed by Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer and is set to be release on April 5, 2019.
