One of the first films we are looking forward to in 2019 is Glass, M Night Shyamalan’s concluding chapter to the superhero trilogy he started with 2000’s Unbreakable and the sneakily followed up in 2016’s Split. And a new trailer for that film has just dropped today.
If this were any other filmmaker, I would say that we could probably take the nearly three-minute clip somewhat at face value. But this is Shyamalan, and when he is working at the height of his talent, taking something at face value is the last thing you will want to do. So is this going to be a story that maybe concentrates more on the villainous Mr. Glass (Samuel L Jackson) and The Beast (James McAvoy) than it will David Dunn (Bruce Willis)? Probably not, but it does appear to be one of most likely many interesting aspects of the film.
Glass opens in theaters January 18.
