The first trailer for Paramount’s Elton John biopic Rocketman has been released, and well, it certainly captures John’s outrageous outfits from the 1970s.
Taron Egerton stars as the flamboyant British rock star whose rise to fame was also accompanied by substance abuse problems and a falling out with his writing partner Bernie Taupin.
There is not much to the film’s official synopsis –
ROCKETMAN is an epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Sir Elton John’s breakthrough years, starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, Richard Madden and Bryce Dallas Howard.
But if you know the history of John’s career, you know that there is plenty of material to work with. How uncensored the film will present all of that, considering that John is an executive producer on the project, remains to be seen.
Rocketman is scheduled for a May 31, 2019 release.
