Today seems to be the day when eagerly awaited trailers are released. Let’s add Stan & Ollie to that mix.
The film details the 1953 farewell tour of Britain and Ireland by the legendary comedy team of Laurel and Hardy. It will cover the waning days of the comedy team, their friendship, their working relationship and their lives away from the stage.
Even taken with the realization that the best clips are cherry-picked to go into the trailer, the film appears to have consist of some crackerjack acting from John C. Reilly as Oliver Hardy and Steve Coogan as Stan Laurel.
The film is set for wide release on January 11, 2019, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it garners a limited release at the end of 2018 in order to meet the Academy Awards cut off.
