Margot Robbie and Matthias Schoenaerts are set to star in the post-World War Two thriller Ruin. Assassin’s Creed director Justin Kurzel will be directing.
The film tells the story of a Holocaust survivor to be played by Robbie who forms an uneasy partnership with an ex-SS captain (Shoenaerts) in order to track down the former members of his death squad. The script by Ryan and Matthew Firpo first came to prominence when it appeared at the top of the 2017 Black List, a survey of hot screenplays currently not in production.
Last year at this time, Gal Gadot had been in talks to appear in the role Robbie now has.
The film is set to go into production in the spring of 2019, in Prague. No distributor has been set for the film.
