Scott And Balinska Round Out CHARLIE’S ANGELS

Charlie has found his other two angels.

Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska have been added to the cast of the upcoming cinematic reboot of the Charlie’s Angels franchise. They will join the already cast Kristen Stewart as a trio of private investigators who work for the Townsend Agency and it’s mysterious, unseen head known only as Charlie.

Elizabeth Banks will be directing the project as well as producing and having a hand in writing the screenplay. But Banks will be playing the boss in front of the cameras as well, or more precisely Banks will be playing Bosley, Charlie’s intermediary who assigns the Angels their cases.

For this reboot, the scope of the work down by the Angels has been widened. The Townsend Agency is now a global concern and deals with Security and intelligence issues worldwide. The team of Stewart, Scott and Balinska will be just one of many teams who work for Charlie around the world. That expansion strikes me as a fun idea that allows for flexibility in future films, perhaps allowing the franchise to become something of a female-centric Mission: Impossible-like series.

Stewart signed on to the film last fall. Scott will next be seen on screen next year’s in Disney’s live-action Aladin while Balinska, who comes from British television, will be making her Hollywood debut.

Charlie’s Angels is set for a September 27, 2019 release.
