DEADPOOL 2 Director In Talks To Remake Bruce Lee’s ENTER THE DRAGON

Deadpool 2 director David Leitch is currently in early talks with Warner Brothers to oversee a remake of the classic Bruce Lee-starring martial arts epic Enter The Dragon.

Once Leitch’s deal is finished he will join with the studio in finding a screenwriter. No aactor is attached to the project.

In the original, Lee played a martial artist who is recruited by an intelligence organization to enter a fighting competition held on an island owned by the mysterious Han (Kien Shah). But the tournament is just a cover for Han to recruit new members into his terrorist army which Lee must infiltrate. But Lee’s character has his own motives for taking the mission – His sister was killed by Han’s thugs.

In addition to Lee Enter The Dragon featured other martial arts action stars Jim Kelly, John Saxon, Bolo Yeung and Robert Wall. Future stars Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung also had small roles in the film.

While considered a classic, it’s initial release came under the shadow of Lee’s untimely death only a few weeks earlier.
