SDCC 2018: The DC Extended Universe Is No More….

The Internet is abuzz with news that Warner Brothers is now calling their DC Films output “Worlds of DC,” replacing the never official DC Extended Universe. But the change might not be as clear as one might think.

The story gained traction when the audience at the Warner Brother panel hit up social media with how the studio introduced the DC Films portion of its panel.

This led fans and journalists alike to think that Warner’s was moving away from the never fully recognized DC Extended Universe and officially naming the DC Films “Worlds of DC.”

Of course, there is no information  of a formal announcement of the brand name at the panel, no official logo or explanation as to what DC films will fit under the banner. For all we know, it was just a cute way to segue into talking about the DC films and has no official bearing on anything.

Keep an eye out on news sites and Warners promo materials to see if this name sticks or was just a one-off thing.
