Jennifer Connelly In Talks To Join TOP GUN 2

Jennifer Connelly is in early talks to join the cast of Top Gun 2, the sequel to the popular 1986 film about hot shot Navy pilots starring Tom Hanks.

The Hollywood Reporter is stating that the Dark City actress is up for the lead female role of “a single mother who runs a local bar near the Navy base” that houses the Top Gun fighter pilot school that Cruise’s Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is now an instructor at.

This new installment is being directed by Cruise’s Oblivion and Edge Of Tomorrow helmer Joseph Kosinski. Miles Teller has already been cast as the son of Maverick’s former wingman Nick “Goose” Bradshaw played by Anthony Edwards in the original movie.

The film is set to start shooting in September in San Diego.

Joseph Kosinski didn’t direct Edge of Tomorrow, Doug Liman did.
