If you came of age in the late 1980s/early 1990s, odds are you saw at least one movie by Winona Ryder or Keanu Reeves in a theater growing up. Perhaps even in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which starred them both. Well, get ready to feel young again because the pair are reuniting for the forthcoming Destination Wedding.
The pair plays two miserable people who are stuck with each other as they attend a destination wedding. In typical romantic comedy fashion, their characters have an immediate dislike for each other which morphs into a romance.
While Reeves has worked fairly steady over the years, Ryder’s career took a hit from her shoplifting conviction, and she was relegated to small roles in big films or lead roles in small films. However, her performance in Netflix’s Stranger Things has shot her back into the realm of lead roles in films that stand a good chance of being shown in theaters. That’s a good thing, because she shows more personality and character in the trailer than most actresses working today show in entire movies.
This will be the fourth time Reeves and Ryder have appeared on screen together. In addition to Dracula, the duo also both starred in A Scanner Darkly and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.
