Our First Look At Three Generations Of The SHAFT Family

The latest installment in the Shaft franchise is currently shooting in New York City. What’s great about how MGM is treating the franchise is that they have allowed it to become a generational story about a badass family of detectives and law enforcement officials. You have John Shaft, the main character of the original three films from the 1970s as played by the great Richard Roundtree. You have his nephew played by Samuel L Jackson in the 2000 film directed by John Singleton. And now we have Jessie T. Usher carrying on the family tradition as Jackson’s son, an FBI agent who has to bring his father and uncle in on a case in this latest film.

And the result when you get them all together is this –
