AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Trailer – Destiny Finally Arrives

“Destiny finally arrives.”

So intones intergalactic despot Thanos in the first trailer for Marvel’s The Avengers – Infinity War. Appropriate words as this is a story that Marvel has been building up to across ten years and some twenty films’ worth of storytelling.

Sure there will probably be some fans that are disappointed that this first trailer doesn’t contain some of the footage that was shown to those attending last summer’s San Diego Comic Con. We still have six months to film’s release so there is plenty of time for that footage to show up in other trailers.

Here’s the studio’s synopsis –

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

The Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Paul Rudd, Don Cheadle and a host of others who have appeared in previous Marvel movies. It opens in theaters on May 4, 2018.
