Lily Collins has been cast in Joe Berlinger’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile as Elizabeth Kloepfer, the girlfriend of notorious serial killer Ted Bundy. The film takes Kloepfer’s viewpoint as she lived in denial of Bundy’s crimes for years before she finally turned him over to the authorities.
Zac Efron is set to play the serial killer who murdered at least 30, and possibly more, women in the 1970s before being apprehended. The film is set to begin shooting in January.
Berlinger is primarily a documentary director, with just 2000’s Book Of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 as his only theatrical feature on his resume. With his former directing partner Bruce Sinofsky, Berlinger was nominated for an Academy Award in 2012 for Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory, the third installment in their documentary trilogy examining the accused killers known as the West Memphis Three.
