THOR: RAGNAROK Tracking Towards $90 Million Opening Weekend

Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok is on track for the biggest opening weekend for the solo superhero franchise with an estimated domestic box office take between $90 and $100 million when it opens on November 3.

The box office projection stems in part from social media mentions and online activity. The debut of the first trailer for the film in April garnered 136 million views worldwide.

It should be noted that we are still three weeks out from the release of the film, so this number could still be adjusted up or down. The review embargo for the film lifts in one week on October 19th, and that could certainly influence ticket sales.

Previously, the first Thor film had an opening weekend if $65.7 million and Thor: The Dark World pulled $85.7 million on its opening weekend.
