Marvel has started production on Ant-Man And The Wasp, their sequel to 2015’s Ant-Man. They made the announcement today, releasing the short video below. Of course it doesn’t really give too much away. With Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War hitting theaters May 4, 2018, just a few months before Ant-Man And The Wasp‘s July 6, 2018 release, they are not about to let potential spoilers for the former out of the bag too early.
Here’s the official studio synopsis –
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: “Ant-Man and The Wasp.” In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.
In addition to the returning Rudd, Lilly and Douglas, Ant-Man And The Wasp welcomes newcomers Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster (a.k.a. Goliath), Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo.
