Kevin Smith has just started production on a new horror anthology film, Killroy Was Here n As the writer/director explains in the Facebook post below, the film was first written several years back under the title Comes The Krampus. But after a similar titled film beat his idea to the theaters, he shelved the screenplay until recently when he realized a quick rewrite of its framing device could still make it viable.
While I would consider myself an old school Kevin Smith fan, I have been a bit disappointed with his output of late. Clerks II (2006) and his first attempt at horror Red State (2011) were probably his last two solid films. His more recent forays into the genre – Tusk (2014) and Yoga Hosers (2016) each had their problems and are hard to recommend. Will this be stronger because Smith originally wrote back during a creatively better time for him?
We’ll see.
