Jeff Goldblum Heading To JURASSIC WORLD 2

Jeff Goldblum Jurassic World

Life finds a way, and now Jeff Goldblum is finding his way back to the Jurassic Park franchise.

The Hollywood Reporter Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that the co-star from the inaugural Jurassic Park film will be returning for the sequel to the 2015 film that relaunched the franchise. In the original 1993 film and it’s 1997 sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Goldblum played wisecracking genius mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm who is not so much wowed by the technical marvel of cloning dinosaurs in the modern age as he is terrified of the potential unintended consequences.

There’s no word yet as to how big or small a part his character will play. I would guess that it would be somewhat substantial, though. You don’t bring a fan favorite character like Malcolm back for a short cameo.

Production is currently underway with A Monster Calls director J.A. Bayona taking over helming duties from Colin Treverrow. Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning for the sequel and are being joined by Justice Smith, James Cromwell and Toby Jones.

Jurassic World 2 is set for a June 22, 2018 release.
