DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS Remake, NASTY WOMEN, Lands Director

Nasty Women Chris Addison

MGM has signed Veep director Chris Addison to direct their female-centric Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remake, Nasty Women.

The Frank Oz-directed Dirty Rotten Scoundrels starred Steve Martin and Michael Caine as a mismatched pair of conmen – one sophisticated, one not so much – who team up to bamboozle an heiress on the French Riviera. That film was a remake of the 1964 Marlon Brando-David Niven film Bedtime Story. This new version will see Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson teaming up to con a tech genius out of his money.

In addition to directing a handful of episodes of the satirical Showtime series Veep, Addison has been in front of the cameras on Skins, The Thick Of It and Doctor Who.

The screenplay for Nasty Women is by Jac Schaeffer, who had previously written the comedy The Shower which had both Addison and Hathaway attached. That film died in development at Warner Brothers.
