“They did not save your life. They stole it.” Sounds more like a line from a Robocop movie than an adaptation of a classic Japanese anime, but if you’re going by the studio’s plot description for the film below, they certainly sound as if they are treading in the same thematic waters. But if you’re not familiar with the source material, perhaps the visuals on display her from director Rupert Sanders might entice you. How about a cast headlined by Scarlett Johansson and the always awesome “Beat” Takeshi?
Based on the internationally acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
Ghost In The Shell hits theaters on March 31.
