DEADPOOL Scores A Producer’s Guild Nomination.

Deadpool continues to amaze this awards season. First, it received a Golden Globe nod for Best Picture-Musical or Comedy, then a Writer’s Guild nomination, and now it is nominated by the Producer’s Guild for its Darryl F. Zanuck Award. It beat out favorites such as Silence, Loving and Nocturnal Animals for a spot on the nominations list.

The Darryl F. Zanuck Award has become a good indicator for what films will be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar due its voting system and voter make up being similar to the Oscar’s. However, this does not mean that Deadpool is a lock for the Oscar nod. The Producer’s Guild nominates ten films for its award each year, and the Oscars nominated anywhere from 5 to 10 films for Best Picture.

We’ll find out if Deadpool gets an Oscar nod on January 24th when the Oscar nods are announced. Until then, here are the other films the Producer’s Guild has nominated this year:

Arrival — Producers: Dan Levine, Shawn Levy, Aaron Ryder, David Linde

Deadpool — Producers: Simon Kinberg, Ryan Reynolds, Lauren Shuler Donner
