William Dafoe has confirmed that he will be appearing Warner Brothers comic book adaption Aquaman.
The news should come as no surprise. Dafoe has already been cast in Warners’ Justice League, which will feature Jason Momoa as the aquatic superhero Aquaman. Dafoe is set to play Vulko, an advisor to Aquaman, who in addition to his superheroing is also king of the undersea kingdom of Atlantis.
Dafoe confirmed his involvement in an interview with The Guardian published today.
‘Justice League’ is very particular because it’s an ensemble movie and my character is being introduced here in order to be a principal role in ‘Aquaman,’ These films are a different experience. They have different responsibilities, different resources and different intentions. It’s nice to go between those worlds if you can. They serve different impulses.”
In addition to Momoa and Dafoe, Aquaman stars Amber Heard who is also getting having her character make an appearance in Justice League first.
Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017 with Aquaman will following on July 27, 2018
