First it was a teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, now one for Logan. You think that there was a comic book movie coming in a couple weeks they’d want to attach them to?
Yes, we get our first look at the next Wolverine movie, and this trailer gives a bit more plot revelations than the GOTG2 one:
Even though Mark Millar’s “Old Man Logan” storyline was rumored to be the inspiration for film, it doesn’t look like much of it survived. That is, unless Charles Xavier’s line “Logan, what have you done?” refers to his killing his fellow X-Men, the inciting incident that caused his self-imposed exile in the original storyline.
Otherwise, the trailer sets the stage well. Logan’s healing power is no longer working, and time and injuries are catching up to him. Mutants are gone, except for a new one, “very much like” Logan. The clawed Canadian joins Xavier in an apparent rescue of the child and fight to keep her safe from Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook).
Logan hits theaters on March 7, 2017.
