Rebel Wilson Set To Headline DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS Remake

Rebel Wilson will be headlining a gender-swapped remake of the 1988 conman comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

The original Frank Oz-directed film starred Steve Martin and Michael Caine as a mismatched pair of conmen – one sophisticated, one not so much – who team up to bamboozle an heiress on the French Riviera. Given Wilson’s past work in the Pitch Perfect franchise and in the recent ensemble rom-com How To Be Single, it seems likely that she will be playing Steve Martin’s unsophisticated conman character.

The film is being written by relative newcomer Jac Schaeffer and does not yet have a director attached. Studio MGM has not yet scheduled a release for the project.
