SDCC 2016: Danai Gurira Joins BLACK PANTHER

Black Panther Danai GuriraIf Black Panther is in anyway unsuccessful, it won’t be because of its cast. Some of the best actors and actresses working today have already been hired, and they have just added another actress that comic book fans should love.

The Marvel panel confirmed the casting of Lupita Nyong’o, who will be playing Nakia, and Michael B. Jordan as the villain Erik Killmonger, but also added that actress/playwright Danai Gurira will be joining the cast as a character named Okoye.

Comic fans know Gurira as Michonne on AMC’s The Walking Dead. No word on how her character is involved with Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, but if she could bring the iconic Michonne to life, she’ll do fine in whatever is asked of her.
