With production ongoing for Universal’s The Mummy, it was only a matter of time before pictures of star Sofia Boutella in the title role. And that time is now, thanks to some paparazzi who have been stalking the production’s London location shooting.
A word of note, as always with set photos such as these. The final look in the film will very likely be somewhat different once color correction, CG and other adjustments are made. But what we are seeing here does look pretty promising.
Tom Cruise is set to star as a soldier of fortune who winds up fighting Boutella’s risen-from-the-dead monster. Courtney B. Vance and Jake Johnson are co-starring, while Russell Crowe will be appearing as Dr. Henry Jekyll, whose character is said to be recurring through many of the planned interconnected monster movies that Universal is planning. Alex Kurtzman is directing the film while also serving as one of the creative directors of the entire Universal franchise.
