A new Ghostbusters trailer has just been released, and if you wanted to see just how big the diversity of ghosts that Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones will be facing off against, this is the trailer for you. Director Paul Feig is still not playing up the comedy angle of the film and I am just fine with that. One of the biggest complaints about trailers for other comedies is that they give away too many of the jokes, leaving nothing for the audiences to be surprised by once they’re in theaters. In the grand scheme of things, I would rather have a few minor plot twists spoiled – like the one we see with Chris Hemsworth here – than have some great laugh moments given away too soon.
And I have to wonder if the line “No one should have to encounter that type of evil” is in reference to the trolls who have been bitching about the film online for some time now.
Ghostbusters hits theaters July 15.
