Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks is the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming Blade Runner 2. She will be joining Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and Ana De Armas when the film starts shooting later this summer.
The film, a sequel to Ridley Scott’s iconic 1984 science-fiction tale, will be set decades after the original, but beyond that story details are non-existence. The original film’s co-writer Hampton Fancher is back, working with Michael Green on the screenplay. Denis Villeneuve will be directing, with Scott producing.
Hoeks may be an unfamiliar face to most US audiences. But she has starred with Geoffrey Rush in the drama The Best Offer and J.K. Simmons in Luc Besson’s The Lake.
Blade Runner 2 is set for a January 12, 2018 release.
