The cast for the upcoming remake of the 1990s’s film Jacob’s Ladder.
The LA Times is reporting that Michael Ealy, Jesse Williams and Nicole Beharie will be headlining the new version of director Adrian Lyne’s psychological thriller about a Vietnam veteran experiencing nightmarish hallucinations. Tim Robbins, Danny Aiello and Elizabeth Peña headlined the original film. In this new version Ealy will be playing the titular Jacob, the vet being traumatized by hallucinations, with Williams co-starring as his brother.
According to the Times –
Producers previously said the new film would be “more akin to an homage and not mimic the original.” The new “Ladder” has been conceived as a modern-day paranoid action thriller about two brothers.
Although it was never a big hit when released back in 1990, the film’s influence has a long reach, with films like The Sixth Sense and the Silent Hill franchise owing a debt to the film.
