Captain America and the Avengers weren’t the only comic book team to have a trailer debut at last night’s MTV’s Movie Awards. The Suicide Squad also had a new trailer unveiled. This new one goes to the same classic 70s, high energy rock and roll well that the first trailer did, but rather than use Queens’ “Bohemian Rhapsody,” This one kicks out Sweet’s “Ballroom Blitz.” It might not work quite as well in the trailer as “Bohemian Rhapsody” did in the previous one, but it still brings an energy to the clip that hopefully director David Ayer has infused in the movie overall.
The new trailer also goes a bit further in outlining some of the dynamics between team members as well as let’s casual moviegoers – i.e., non-comic book fans – know that this is going to be taking place in Warner Brothers DC Extended Universe set of film alongside Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
Suicide Squad stars Will Smith, Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne and Viola Davis and crashs into theaters on August 5.
