The various superhero franchises weren’t the only ones having trailers debut during last night’s MTV Movie Awards. The upcoming Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them also debuted a new trailer. They’re calling this a teaser trailer, but we’ve already seen one trailer before this. Semantics aside, the new trailer reveals more about how Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) came to America, with a bit of name dropping along the way. But I suppose since the film is being written by Harry Potter creator J. K. Rowling, she can get away with that.
Here’s the studio’s official plot synopsis for the film –
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
The film also features Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove and Colin Farrell. It appears in theaters on November 18.
