Once upon a time, movie magazines ruled the Earth. Now, once there was many, now there are but few. And one of the best of the bunch is England’s Empire Magazine, which justifies it’s existence with scoop from upcoming films. This issue, it is Captain America: Civil War.
The film is the cover story of the latest issue, which will hit stands in the UK on Thursday. The issue’s biggest scoop is that it reveals who Martin Freeman’s character is in the film.
Freeman will be playing Everett Ross. In the comics, Ross is a member of the U.S. State Department charged with being the official government liaison with foreign dignitaries who visit America. It is this role that he first met T’Challa, King of Wakanda, also known as the Black Panther. Ross eventually became a member of the Black Panther’s supporting cast, which will give us some indication where we will see Freeman next and what story lines Marvel is looking at for the Black Panther film.
The article also gives us the first official look at Frank Grillo as Crossbones, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, and other goodies.
Captain America: Civil War arrives in theaters on May 6, 2016. Images from the Empire article will be presented below.
