Amber Heard is heading for the Seven Seas, as the Hollywood Reporter is stating that she is in talks to join Warner Brothers’ Aquaman movie. If a deal is reached, she will star opposite Jason Momoa as Mera to his titular hero.
While Aquaman will be making his first appearance in the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, the Hollywood Reporter is claiming that Heard will first show up in Warner’s two-part Justice League film before taking a bigger role in Aquaman.
Introduced in 1963, the character of Mera also is able to breath underwater like Aquaman but has the additional ability to manipulate water. She is the love of Aquaman’s life and rules beside him as King and Queen of Atlantis.
Justice League is set to begin production in April, with the first part scheduled for a November 17, 2017 release. Aquaman has a July 27, 2018 release date already staked out, with the second installment of the Justice League two-parter arriving in theaters on June 14, 2019.
James Wan is currently set to direct Aquaman. The film has two different scripts in development concurrently and the studio will go which ever one they wind up liking the most.
