Priyanka Chopra may be slipping into a red swinsuit as the Hollywood Reporter is stating that the star of ABC’s hit series Quantico is in talks to join the cast of the big screen adaptation of the cheesy 1990s television series Baywatch.
Dwayne Johnson is heading up the cast, stepping into David Hasselhoff’s role of life guard Mitch, the head of a group of lifeguards who work along the beaches of Los Angeles, California, where there was apparently enough drama happening to fuel ten years worth of stories. Fashion model Kelly Rohrbach has been cast as C. J. Parker, the role which launched Pamela Anderson’s career, while Alexandra Daddario will be taking over the role of Summer from series actor Nicole Eggert. Rounding out the already announced cast is Zach Effron who will be playing a young, hotshot life guard who doesn’t like to follow the rule book.
Previously, it was reported that the lifeguards would be teaming up to save the bay from an evil oil tycoon. The Hollywood Reporter is stating that Chopra’s role will be that of the film’s villain.
Previous to her grabbing the lead of ABC’s Quantico, Chopra was making herself a name in Bollywood, having starred in a number of dramas there, including the 2014 boxing drama Mary Kom. Baywatch will be her Hollywood big screen debut.
